Lord,
it’s been a hard week.
I honestly don’t know what we would do without You. We need You so deeply.
I sit here with tears streaming down my face, listening to praise and worship on YouTube—of all things—and I can’t help but wonder what has happened to us.
Why is the world so full of pain, chaos, and evil?
And yet, these songs of worship, praise, forgiveness, hope, and faith… they bless Your Name. They make me pause. They remind me that You alone are the answer to the hurt in this world.
They also bring to mind the beauty, love, and higher calling You’ve placed on Your people.
Because even in the middle of all this brokenness, there is love. There is goodness and joy on this incredible earth You created.
There is You.
And there are the people You send—those who sit and grieve with us when we’re grieving, who lift us when we can’t lift ourselves. People who love because You love.
Even when we don’t understand the situations we’re in, there is this steady, unshakable knowing that You are holding us, watching over us, guiding us, speaking to us, and loving us through it all.
You lift our heads and draw our eyes back to You. Because we know You are here.
You bring gladness and hope.
And it’s not just this week—it’s every day, every moment of our lives.
We cannot do any of it without You.
We sing “Come, Jesus, come,” but the truth is You are already here—beside us, walking with us, and sometimes carrying us when we can’t walk on our own.
Still, we long for the day we are in your physical presence.
Until then, I will sing of the goodness of God.
Amen.
